Haze-Participation

Haze System: Participation Animation. Lead Investigator: Roberto Tamassia. This demo displays the trade-off between privacy level of traffic reports of individual vehicles and the usability of resulting traffic statistics provided by the Haze system. The animation decreases over time the number of vehicles reporting traffic data. Privacy is achieved through random noise added to traffic data by a differentially private mechanism. Road markers show true vs. noisy statistics in terms of the number of vehicles participating in the protocol on this road. The marker also shows the threshold on the number of vehicles that need to report their speed before aggregated statistics are displayed. Traffic reports are simulated.
